The Lumia 720 has a bigger display than the Nokia X+, a better camera and a bigger battery, but the price is triple, so in case you’re having second thoughts and your pocket isn’t filled with cash, you can consider buying the Nokia X+ low-end smartphone. Here are the specs and features of both phones, compared.
Displays and sizes
The Nokia X+ has a 4inches display that uses IPS LCD technology, but you’ll have to deal with a 480x800pixels screen resolution which gives 233ppi. The screen supports only two finger multitouch and it has light and proximity sensors as well. The Nokia 720 has a scratch resistant display, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, being sized at 4.3inches and using the same technology. The resolution is the same, but the pixel density is lower, at 217ppi. Also, there are light and proximity sensors included.
In terms of sizes, the Nokia X+ measures 115.5x63x10.4mm and it weights 128.7grams, while the Nokia 720 is 0.7grams lighter and its dimensions are 127.9×67.5x9mm.
Hardware and OS
The Nokia X+ features a dua core 1GHz Cortex A5 processor, backed by a Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play and an Adreno 203 GPU and coupled with 768GB of RAM. The internal storage has the capacity of 4GB, but you can expand it up to 32GB. The phone runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and uses the Nokia X platform 1.0 UI.
The Nokia 720 runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS, which is upgradeable to the 8.1 version, and has 512MB of RAM. The processor is dual core 1GB, based on a Qualcomm MSM8227 chipset and the phone uses a newer Adreno version – 305. This phone has 8GB of ROM and with a microSD card you can expand it up to 64GB.

Cameras
There isn’t much to say about Nokia X+’s back shooter. The resolution is 3.15MP, it has a 1/5” sensor size, focal length – 32.4mm, panorama, face detection and video recording capabilities at 480p@30fps.
The Nokia 720 has a better rear camera, whose resolution is 6.1MP. It uses Carl Zeiss optics and the features include autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging, panorama, macro and night mode, and the sensor has the size of 1/3.6”. Also, the phone is capable of recording videos at 720p@30fps with the 1.3MP camera on the front, as well.
Batteries
The Nokia X+ has a user replaceable Li-Ion 1500mAh battery (BN-01) with which you can talk 10 hours and a half on 3G or listen to music for 26hours. The Nokia 720 has a non-removable Li-Ion 2000mAh battery (BP-4GW) which allows up to 13hours of talktime on 3G and 79hours of music play.
