Fallout 4 – Expected Release Date, News and New Gameplot

If you have been playing the Fallout game series, you have probably been anticipating the release of Fallout 4.

While there is no release date mentioned yet, this article takes a look at the news, rumors and possible release dates for the next release in the Fallout series.

As it is, with many games that come as a series, there is a story behind the Fallout game titles. While Fallout 4 is yet to be released, there are a lot of rumors going around, about the possible plot and the look of the game. All this is based on the history of the game plot creation and possible improvements over the previous series.

The first two Fallout game series were created and developed by Interplay Entertainment and Black Isle Studios respectively. The first version was created way back in 1997 and the 2nd version in 1998. In 2004, Interplay Entertainment gave Bethesda Softworks the license and rights to create and even publish three Fallout series. These were Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and the much awaited Fallout 4. Bethesda would later purchase the entire franchise.

Project Code Name ‘Institute’

There is an online project called ‘institute’, believed to be in reference to Fallout 4, even though Fallout is not mentioned by name. The website gives reference to locations and settings. What links this project to Fallout 4 is the mention of the phrase’ war, war never changes’, which was a popular introduction phrase with other Fallout series.

This project not only confirms that indeed Fallout 4 is in the making, but also reveals that the Fallout 4 will be partly set in Boston. The script of the project describes a mission where Preston Garvey, a character, requests the player to find a fusion core from a museum located in the Commonwealth.

While this ascertains that indeed Fallout 4 is in the making, it fails to reveal when exactly to expect from the game release. However, it is safe to say that Bethesda has been working on Fallout 4, since they completed creating and releasing the Elders Scroll V: Skyrim in 2011.

When Possibly Can The Fallout 4 Game Be Released?

Based on the history of how Bethesda has released the Fallout series games since its takeover, you will notice that Fallout 3 was released two years ahead of Fallout: New Vegas. Therefore, a correct prediction would be two years after the release of the latest Fallout series. Also, both names were released in October. If the release date of Fallout 4 was based on this prediction, it would have been released in October of 2012 but this did not happen.

It is probable that the reason Fallout 4 was not released in 2012, is because Bethesda released dishonored, a video game in 2012 and the Elder Scroll online game was released in 2013. Therefore, this might have pushed the release of Fallout 4 to possibly 2014 or 2015.
